South Africa’s Retirement Expo returns to the Coca-Cola dome in Johannesburg from 25-27 October 2013, for a feature-packed exhibition of all the facets of a well-planned and inspired retirement and what it means to “Live. Plan. Play.”

This fun-filled and informative expo has captured the imagination and support of a truly multi-generational audience. Intrigued by the expo’s concept of putting forward all the tools for “Healthy Ageing, Perfect Planning and Positive Living,” audience members who range in age from 20-something to 70-plus visit the show to get the inside track on living and retiring well.

Says Lynn Chamier, general manager of the Retirement Expo, “It really doesn’t matter how old you are, what your background, culture, creed or financial status is, the one thing we all have in common is that one day we will retire and when we do, we want to be in good health, and retire well.”

Catering for the needs of the audience

To cater to the needs and fulfill the expectations of its diverse audience, Retirement Expo exhibitors put forward a powerhouse display of products and services that run the gamut of retirement options. On show are: retirement planning products; lifestyle, health, financial and other services; travel destinations and options; home, lifestyle, health, hobbies and fitness products; anti-ageing and optimal nutrition options; retirement properties and facilities as well as choice vacations.

Adds Chamier, “The beauty of this show is its ability to demonstrate how rewarding and satisfying retirement can be. It gives young people something to look forward, to aspire to and to plan for. It offers those nearing retirement or currently retired a host of options to expand their experience and enjoyment of their hard-earned retirement.

“For exhibitors, it gives direct and personal access to an audience that is curious and motivated, and whose buy-in to retiring well is assured by virtue of their attendance.”

Free interactive workshops

A happy, fulfilled retirement is the result of planning based on choices made with the full benefit of all the best available information. This information is readily available to Retirement Expo visitors at the show’s free Interactive Workshops, where experts who are at the top of their game share their experience, knowledge and insights and answer the audience’s questions on topics that hinge on the art of inspiring good health and retiring well.

Edu-tainment is a major draw card for Retirement Expo audiences. The expo’s designated Activity Areas serve to entertain while they educate visitors on the many fitness activities and hobby options available.

The Retirement Expo also offers marketers sponsorship opportunities to partner with the expo in a more personal way, one that extends their reach, increases their brand’s exposure and aligns it more intimately, powerfully and effectively with the Retirement Expo brand.
