Healthy, home-made skin scrubs

Natural scrubs – made from simple ingredients found in your kitchen – can be an easy, affordable way to give your skin a healthy lift.

By exfoliating regularly, you rid your skin of dead cells, giving it a radiant appearance and making it soft and smooth to the touch.

Experiment with these home-made scrubs:

Gentle exfoliator
2 heaped teaspoons fine oatmeal
2 teaspoons double cream
Combine the ingredients and rub into the skin lightly, using the balls of your fingers and avoiding the eyes. Rinse off.

Polenta and yoghurt scrub
1 tablespoon polenta
2 tablespoons plain yoghurt
Mix into a paste and gently rub into the skin with small circular movements, starting at the chin and working up to the cheeks and forehead, avoiding the eyes. Rinse off.

Body-glow scrub
1 cup runny honey
½ cup sesame seeds
Sprinkling of dried herbs, such as lavender or mint.
Mix together into a sticky paste and smooth over your body in slow circular movements. Shower off with warm water.
