A Million Little Pieces by James Frey
A vivid and shocking glimpse into the world of a rehabilitating alcoholic. This book was originally released as a 'real life story' by the author, but it was later discovered that some of the events were dramatised.
Fiction or not, it is a compelling and emotive read, telling of life in rehab and the characters that frequent such institutions. It gives real insight into the struggles of an alcoholic – the physical withdrawals, the emotional turmoil, and the steps to recovery.
