32. Christmas Crime Spree!
- Caroline is getting the leather jacket, stolen from the salon.
- Luvo is receiving the cologne, nicked from the car.
- Nico gets a pedigree puppy, pinched from a restaurant.
For this kind of problem – called a logic problem – it’s helpful to lay out all the information in a grid. In this problem, we have 3 people, 3 gifts and 3 places: fill in information from the clues. For example, we know already that the gift stolen from the salon is meant for Caroline.
Carry on until you have the whole grid filled out. In this way you can solve much more complicated logic puzzles, with many variables. This kind of puzzle is sometimes called Einstein's Puzzle – it’s supposed to have been invented by Albert Einstein when he was a boy (although this may be a myth).
