Q.

Tooth broke above gumline

What is the procedure for removing a tooth whose crown has broken off but the root remains embedded in the gum? Can it be extracted in the dentist chair &  is the root now rotting under the gum? Very Scared of dentist!

it can be removed by cutting the gum and then removing the remaining tooth.
usually this is done in theatre but it can be done in the chair
