Q.

Tonsilliths

I have had recurring small white spots on one tonsil for a few weeks and I suspect that they may be tonsilliths because there is no swelling, fever or pain. Occasionally I cough up tiny creamy coloured ''bits'' which look like cottage cheese curds, and the spots disappear only to appear again a few days later. There is no halitosis and I practise good oral hygiene. What is the likely cause and treatment? Thank you.
