Q.

Teeth grinding

I know you have been asked about teeth grinding a lot in the past, but really just need to know which professional to go and see. I have been going through a very stressful time over the past few months and I find I grind my teeth all the time, not just in my sleep. I now fear that I have damaged my jaw. At first if I yawned or opened my mouth wide I could hear a " clicking sound"  coming from my jaw, but in the last few days this has become painful, with the joint actually being a bit stiff. I realise I need to do something about this sooner rather than later, so who is that that I should see? A dentist or a maxillo facial specialist?

First see a dentist- he will then refer you to a maxillofacial surgeon if necessary. The clicking is a sign of a problem in your joint-caused most likely by the grinding.
