Q.

Swollen glands after root canal

I had a root canal treatment on my lower right wisdom tooth on Monday and since Tuesday my glands underneath my tongue and besides my throat have been terribly swollen and sore. It is just on the side where the root canal was done. I phoned the dentist and he said I should just wait another couple of days otherwise I should take an antibiotic. What can be the cause of this?

root canal treatment on wisdom teeth are highly susceptible to failure. I personally do not perform root canal treatments on widsom teeth because of the low success rate.
It is unwise to leave the sweeling. In my opinion, the tooth needs to be removed
