Q.

Swallowing of toothpaste

Hi,

I have a 2 and a half year old daughter, who in the first place hates brushing her teeth. So every morning it is a song and dance to get the child to stand still so either myself or my husband can do the brushing.

She keep swallowing the toothpaste - we are trying to tell her that it is bad for her stomach to swallow it, but to no avail. It the toothpaste actually bad for the stomach? Or will she be save in the long run?

Regards,
Spokie

it is advisable not to swallow toothpaste, however if you use a children's toothpaste it should not be too much of a concern as the level of fluoride in these is usually lower
