Q.

Surgery

My son is 10yrs and last yr I took him to an Orthodontists, and was told to have 2 teeth in the front extracted to allow the teeth inside the gums to come out. Friday I took him back and one tooth is coming out and seems fine, but on the other side the tooth is still in the gum and is scew and will eventualy fall on the other tooth and not on the gap that it supposed to fall in. So I was told that he will have to go for surgery and have a chain put in to help pull the tooth in place, I have an appointment with the Maxillo Facial Surgeon tormorrow. I just want to know is this the only way, and what will be the long time effect on my son, will he have pain later on in life etc etc, please any advice/opinion in this regard will be appreciated.

Thanks

it is difficult to say if this is the only treatment opiton as I have no0t examine your son. often , this treatment option gives the best outcome if indicated.
befor edoing the surgery, it may be advisable to have a second opinion from another orthpdontist/
pain later in life after the surgery is unlikely.
