Q.

sore gum

Good Day Doctor,

I have braces and since my last visit to the orthodontist, my gums where the lower canine tooth sits has been extremely sore. Upon my visit they did put pressure on that area but over two weeks later it is stil hurting.
The gum appears to have a white tinge to it too, in that area. What can or do I do? Is a doctor, pharmasist or dentist visit necessary or what could I do?
I have applied Dynexan but it really only numbs it for a short while.

Thank you kindly

The white area around the gum is an indication of pressure being placed on it. There may be a piece of orthodontic wire impinging near the area. Return to the orthodontist- it will most likely just need an adjustment of the wire
