Oral Health

Hi doc. My dentist tried to pull a molar out in his chair and it broke off at the gum. It was a tough one to get out. Anyway, had to go into theatre to have it removed. 3 days later I was in such pain that my doctor referred me to a Maxillo surgeon who had to then to a sequestrectomy to remove dead bone etc. Its now a week later and still the pain is just terrible. I live on pain killers. How long is this supposed to take to heal and can anything else be done to move it along. The stitches are healing nicely and the gums are okay, its the jaw bone thats the problem and taking all these pain pills have their own downfall on the rest of my body. I feel like Im being tortured.

this procedure can take a few weeks to heal completely. There's not much else that can be done to speed up the healing unfortunately.
