Q.

Pustule i n mouth

I was using a toothpick 5 days ago. It slipped off my tooth and jammed into the "ligament" -type structure at the base of my boottom lip. If you pull your bottom lip down, you will see this structure. It has formed a white pustule which I could easily lance with a sterile needle and then boil out with hydrogen peroxide, but I'm a little afraid that it may not be the safest thing to do. I do not feel that it will ever go away until it's lanced. Please advise. Thanks, June

The measures you describe seem quite extreme compared to going to a dentist which is what I would suggest.
It may not even be necessary to "lance" it. conservative treatment often resolves the problem in such cases

I appreciate your advice so much. I do wonder what conservative treatment you recommend.
Thanks, June
