Q.

plaque

my disabled daughter (25) has a lot of plaque. she doesn''t have the dexterity to brush well and has actually brushed too hard many times. i use an electric toothbrush with her sometimes. we use corsodyl sometimes too.
would using a probiotic supplement help fight the plaque?
what about rubbing the gums with something? to decrease plaque and make gums firmer?
is baking soda ok on some days?
she can''t chew well and so i think this also builds plaque.
the dentist says her teeth are strong but i know she hurts.
thank you

I have not heard of probiotics helping in reducing plaque.
Baking soda is a no no.
It may be an option if she needs a deep cleaning and fillings to have it done under general anaesthesia.
