Q.

pain gone but gum/cheek still swollen

hello, hope you can gimme some advice...I have an impacted wisdom tooth that has already cracked the top of the next tooth off as it started pushing through my bottom-left gum...this caused me some pain over a year ago and my dentist told me that removing the rest of the broken tooth would require the wisdom tooth to be extracted and then the half-tooth surgically removed from my gum/jaw...

It never bothered me again until 2days ago when I couldn''t bight down without lots of pain, which I assumed was caused by the wisdom tooth pushing forward again, putting pressure on the other teeth and all this caused my bottom-left gum/cheek to swell up...

I took some painkillers and until now there''s no pain at all and I can comfortably chew on that side of my mouth again but the swollen jaw/cheek remains...should I wait a day or 2 to see if the swelling goes down or still go see the dentist even though there''s no more pain??

See the dentist- the swelling is most likely an abscess and should not be left untreated.
