Q.

Old fillings

I am 62 and have quite a few old metal (?) and 2 gold molar fillings in my mouth, some probably as old as 40 - 50 years. I sometimes get a metallic taste (I think) im my mouth but it doesnt last for long. The past 6 months or so I have been experiencing bad health, aches and pains in my abdomen, back and shoulder - and various tests, scans, etc show no problems in these areas. I am also experiencing a bad odour which comes up every now and again, but is not from my breath, urine or stools. No one else (like my husband) can smell it, but it really seems to be getting worse. Is it possible that old fillings could cause health problems ?

it's unlikely that the old fillings are causing the bad breath. did you see a dentist yet? if not have a cleaning done if no one else can notice the bad breath it may not be too serious
