Q.

mouth ulcers

A friend has recurring mouth ulcers on toungue, cheeks and very painful. At timers she misses work. What is the best preventive measures they can take or preventive medicine or recommended foods they can take. and whats the best treatment . At different times when the ulcers occured she has been put on put on long term antibiotics courses, topical steroids, acyclovir tablets, vitamin c , listerrine, betadine mouthwashes, vitamin bco.are these treatments effectuve or the ulcers are just resolving on their own. thank you

There's not many measures that can be taken to prevent ulcers.
Treatment is aimed at releiving the symptoms. Most cases of mouth ulcers are caused by stress or the Herpes virus.
The ulcers should resolve on their own but medicaments will help with the pain before healing.
