Q.

Gums (Braces)

Hi,
I have just had upper and lower jaw surgery correcting my over bite etc. I have braces and I brush my teeth quite often during the day, i have noticed however the gums on 3 of my bottom teeth has moved down considerably baring most of my tooth, why is this and how do i get this problem fixed?

Also my teeth are SO SENSITIVE and my braces come off in 3 weeks, what can I use to prevent the sensitivity? I use Sensodyne.

Thank you!

This problem occurs often with orthodintcs. You may need to see a periodontist after your braces are removed- speak to your orthodontist about this. This is also the reason for your sensitivity- disucsss this with the periodontist/your dentist
