Q.

Gum protector

Hello,

I' ve had a gum guard for 3 weeks, prescribed by my dentist. It' s a great help, but I' ve noticed that it has softened a bit, is not as tough as when I first got it. I don' t use warm water to clean it, only tap water (and toothpaste) and also soak it in tap water. I suppose the soaking may be softening it. Sometimes I' d rinse it with Listerine. It is expensive and I wouldn' t want to have to get a new one after only 3 weeks.
Not sure if this is normal, or what I must do to kep it strong and tough.
Thank You

Some gum guards are made with a softer material which is hard on initial use but softens slightly later.
Call you dentist to ask him what material yours was made from
