Grinding teeth

Hello. My boyfriend tells me that I grind my teeth when I''m sleeping. Apparently its so bad that he can''t get a decent night sleep and therefore wakes up very irritated with me. Could you plesae let me know why i grind the teeth. And why it only happens when I''m asleep. How can I stop?

The most common cause is stress.
See a dentist for an examination and have a bite plate made. This will help greatly.
