Hello
My son is 13months old he has four bottom teeth that are completely out. His four top teeth are throught the gum and seem to be about half way out.

sometimes while he is playing or just walking about he starts to grind his teeth, im concerned as to why his doing it and if doing this is damaging his teeth or could cause is teeth to grow scew.

My mother looks after my son during the day, now my husband feels that she is taking what ever he puts in his mouth to releave his gums, away from him now he is grinding he teeth. i dont feel this is the case.

Please help, why is he doing it and what can i do to encourage him not to do this.

This is a very common habit and one that is exteremly difficult to stop. It is even more difficult to deal with at your baby's age.The best person to speak to about this is probably your dentist.

Grinding is very common aommogst children. Unfortuneately there is nothing that can be done "dentally" at this stage.
The best option is distracting the baby when he starts grinding.
