Q.

Fused tooth in 1 year old

My 1 yo son has a fused lower central and lateral incisor. When he was about 9 months old, I took him to our dentist who firstly almost fell off his chair from shock when he saw how young his patient was. He then said that nothing can be done about it at this stage, and also that it looked as though there was only one root for the 2 teeth. As far as I understand this can have implicaitons on his jaw development? I' d really like to have it evaluated by a paediatric dentist, but can' t seem to find one in the Boland-Cape Town area. Any comments or help will be much appreciated.

fusion of teeth is a common occurence.
I wouldn't worry about it.
