Q.

facial swelling worse after extraction

after some toothache for 1-2days, i woke up yesterday to find my face swollen at top jaw next to my nose, i knew that my toothache caused it so went to my regular dentist, he advised the extraction of a tooth as the gum was infected, so we extracted the single tooth but swelling has not gone down since...the adjacent teeth are a bit sensitive but nothing like the pain i had when biting down on the tooth thats now extracted...how long should wait for the swelling to go down before i go back? ..i havent taken any meds since the extraction but are there any i should take for swelling 1day after an extraction?
