Q.

EXTRACTION OF 7 MILK TEETH

Hi there, my question is as follows:- my 8 yr old had been to the orthodontist who suggested that 7 of the milk teeth be extracted.. 2 on each side of the two main front upper teeth (those you usually only lose at about age 11)  and two at the bottom (also usually at age 10-11)  and an extra one at the top that was a little lose already... How long would it now take for the permanent teeth to come back out?? Does this mean that he would have to walk around like that for 3 years?? He can barely eat or chew now.. How long before the teeth start coming out??

The orthodontist will be able to tell you how long the permanent teeth will take to erupt. this is dependant on whether the baby teeth were blocking the permanent teeth, position of permanent teeth etc.
usually the premolars erupt at the age of 10-11.
