Q.

Eina!!

Hi doc, I hope you are keeping well. A while back, one of my molars broke, now only the base& roots are left. I did not experience any pain - honestly. Last week, I was eating a rusk &  bit down on this part &  since then have been in agony (Punishment for breaking my diet for a rusk I suppose...) I am constantly taking pain pills, the pain just doesnt stop. How can this be treated, will I have to be awake while I am treated (I know I sound like a huge coward but dentists petrify me - no offense to you...sorry...). Please can you help me, I cannot sleep and am so tired of this. I would appreciate your help.Thank you!Debbie

Hi Debbie

you need to have an xray taken- if the damage is not too severe you could have the roots removed in the chair. In some cases you will need to have the procedure done in theatre.
The longer you leave the tooth untreated, the greater the chances of infection developing

good luck
