Q.

Drill bit broke off during root canal procedure

HI DR

I am just double checking this. I went for root canal procedure this morning and during the procedure the dr broke a piece of the drill bit inside my canal.

Before this broke of she did rince the canals alot and she was very thorough.

She said that the drill bit is sterile and the area has been cleaned alot.

She has put on a temp filling and she will be completing the root canal procedure in a weeks time.

Is it safe to leave it in the canal? I am a bit concerned.

if it's broken at a good length of the canal it can be left in the root usually without any complictions
