Q.

Clicking jaw

My jaw sometimes clicks in an out and has been doing so for about 7 years. It isn''t painful at all, but someone recently told me that this needs to be sorted out as it can turn into a huge problem later. Is this true? I don''t have medical aid and cannot afford to go to any specialist or have any operations unless it is very serious...

Clicking of the jaw is a sign of pathology in the joint.
I've seen patients who have had clicking for 20years without any smptoms and some who have severe pain soon after the clicking starts.
See a dentist for an assessment to dtermine if intervention is necessary
