Q.

Changing dentists??

Good Morning, I hope you''ll be able to advise with the following. Two years ago I had some dental work done by my dentist. I asked her to stop the bill at R6000 and R21 000 later most of my teeth were fixed.

I''m sitting in a position where I don''t trust them anymore because they put me in debt so much, I paid off this account for 2yrs. The teeth they fixed are all chipped and starting to break after these two years because I never went back, due to lack of monies.

I''m thinking now... will it be a good thing to find another (cheaper) dentist, or should I go back to my old dentist? My old dentist had taken x-rays and photos of my mouth ( about R5000 worth) and they keep it on file. The new dentist would have to do the same now - am I right? How can I save money, I only earn R4500 per month and cannot sit with another bill like the above. Please advise???

You can ask for a copy of your file and xrays to take to a new dentist. I do think that R5 000 for xrays and photos alone is VERY excessive- are you sure this is all that was done
