Q.

boneloss

good morning

I had my implant inserted last week and i saw my surgeon yesterday for my follow up. he mentioned that he used the bone that had grown over the plates and screws to fill in the part of my jaw that was affected by the infection originally caused by the cracked root. what are the long term effects? is there anything i can do to help the implant take to the bone?

thank you

You will need to speak to the surgeon about any long term effects of this procedure. It is a surgical procedure - beyond my scope of practice.

besides maintaining a good oral hygiene regimen and regualr checkups theres not much else you can do.
