Q.

black spot on gum

hi

exactly 1 week ago i got 2 fillings. for the last 4 or 5 days i' ve been feeling pain on my gum and when i looked with a mirror now i see there is a small black spot on my gum behind my teeth. its 1 tooth away from where i got the filling. when i poke at it with a toothpick it bleeds. could this be the injection site when i got the local, even though its 1 tooth away? its quite sore and it really hurts after i eat on that side of my mouth. any suggestions?

thanks

it is most likely the site of injection.
if the pain doesn't settle in the next day or 2 see your dentist again. Poking it with a toothpick would delay the healing as well
