Q.

7yr old thumb sucking

My 7 year old daughter has been sucking her thumb since the age of 3 (when I took the dummy from her). I have tried to put vile tasting liquids on her finger but she sucks throught them. I have tried bandages and even threatened to tell her teacher - but nothing works. Should I just leave her alone? I am worried that this nasty habit will affect her permanent teeth. She mainly does it though, when tired. Please help.

See a dentist/orthodontist and have a tongue gate made. This appliance breaks the habit very quickly
