Q.

6 year old''s teeth

My son is 6 years old, turning 7 in July. He has already lost for of his kiddie teeth. I took him with me to the dentist, just so that he can see how every thing looks. The dentist was nice enough to look at his teeth. Then he told me that my son needed to go to hospital so that he can pull out four of his other teeth, because his grown up teeth needs to come out. When I was a kid my teeth came out on their own. Is it really necessary to let the dentist remove the teeth, or can I wait until his teeth come out at their own pace.

sometimes the baby teeth need to be removed if indicated.
Get a second opinion to check if this is the case for your son.

My son was over 7 and still had some of his baby teeth, with permanents already pushing out. We also took him to the dentist for a check-up and he advised that it would (and we should let it) come out naturally, and not put him through the trauma of having his teeth extracted. It did eventually fall out, and at age 8 he now has a beautiful set of permanents, and has no qualms about going back to the dentist for check-ups!
