Q.

38 weeks pregnant and a toothache of note!

hi Dental expert,

I am 38 weeks pregnant and obviously expecting the baby soon. But i had a root canal which became infected early last year. when i went back to fix it i was already pregnant so the doc just put something temporary but now the pain is killing me. so i went to see a dentist and she just gave me antibiotics, i thought she will remove this white thing and clean it and then put a new one... at least clean the infection and then i could take the antibiotics. today is the third day of taking the antibiotics and i am in pain again! She said the antibiotics will clear the infection and that should take the pain away.

What should i do? At this rate i will be in labour and have a toothache at the same time.. that is too much for any one person.

Please help.

have your dentist talk to your gynae and see if it is possible to extract the tooth/continue with the antibiotic.
The antibiotics work in most cases.
