The current Ebola outbreak has killed nearly 700 people, mostly in the west African nations of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia. Countries around the world are readying themselves to prevent the outbreak from spreading further.
Given the frequency of travel between southern and western African countries, there is a risk of EVD cases being imported into South Africa, but government officials regard the risk as low.
