year old wetting the bed

Hi there

I have a son who has jsut turned 5, and he is still wetting the bed at least 3 times a week. i have tried EVERY single thing, even the star method, but nothing seems to work. he is also very upset with himself when this happens. i also have a three year old daughter who has been without nappies since she was 2 and a half... she is very vocal bout him wetting the bed and tells him " no stars for you"  but then tells him to give her a kiss, because she loves him. she is very " grown up"  for her age. i have read on the internet, i have read Dr Spock, i am really at wits end. If i wake up in the night( early morning) and take him to the loo (which is a hassle as his father built him a " double bunk"  and he sleeps on top) then he doesnt wet the bed. But from what i have read its something to do with his diuretic signals, and that when you wake him up in the night, these signals dont develop properly...

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know i should punish him, but when i get to this point i really have to stop myself!

Punishing your son if he wets his bed will only aggravate the problem. He is now at an age when he can start treatment for this problem which is called enuresis. Please take him to be seen by his paediatrician.Treatment is very successful these days.
