Worried mommy

My son of 4 previously (about 3months back) started crying once and all that I could get him to tell me was that his heart was sore. Thinking that this was more of an emotional thing...this morning we had the same issue, he started crying and told me that his heart hurt and when I asked him where he indicated his upper chest..? should I be worried? Can it really be something with his heart? What sign will be present in such a young person if he had heart issues?

Sorry for all the questions but I am after all just a mother...

You have asked a good question. This complaint is not due to a heart problem but is due to spasm of an artery on the inside of the front of the chest. The usual cause is stress and the condition is known as the Da Costa syndrome. If your son seems to be under stress check with the school that he is not being bullied and that he is happy at school.
