worried about temperature in baby

hi doc

my baby boy, almost 5 months old, started to get a high temp on monday afternoon after i picked him up from his daymother. it was 37.6. when he went to bed before 8 that evening, his temp was still around 37.6 going up to 37.8, but never higher than 38. i gave him panado infant drops. he woke 5 hours later that night with temp in high 37' s and 38 again. then i gave him emphaped 125mg, which helped. he slept till the morning, woke up with no fever. he had a restless night but not that bad.
yesterday, i asked the daymother to check his temp frequently during the day and he was fine - at about 16h00 yesterday it went up to high 37' s again. he drank his milk and slept ok but she said he was a bit restless. there is no other symptoms that he is sick and he is also not crying.
he was fine last night and this morning again had temp of 37.6. is there anything i should worry about? when do i contact my paed? this is now the second day he has fever on and off, it never goes over 38. ?
as i said he drinks fine and sleeps ok. how do in know it' s not his ears or maybe teething?

Your baby's fever is not due to teething. He has an infection which is causing this fever. He may well have an ear infection or a urinary system infection. Another possibility at this age is Roseola [baby measles]. Please ask your paediatrician to see your baby son.
