worms

my 1 year 9 months daughter have been experiencing difficulties when she''s about to pass stool, she will cry hysterically complaining about pain in her bum, when i try to check i cant see anything, so i took her to her local doctor who gave her medication for worms. is it possible for her to have worms and i cant see them?

The worms that affect young children in this way are indeed very tiny and are known a pinworms. The usual complaint with pinworms is that of itching around the anus especially at night.The complaint your young daughter has is more likely to be due to a small tear of her anus rather than worms.
