Childhood Diseases

I have a 5.5month baby who has been soley breastfed since birth. She has always had a problem breaking wind and having excess wind. She also always possetts after a feed but she is very healthy and gaining weight beautifully. She is rather pleasant during the day but is very restless at night and cries as though she' s very uncomfortable and has wind stuck in her. I feed her every 3 hours during the day but every 2 hours at night because sometimes that' s the only thing that calms her down when she' s in pain. I' ve tried gripe water and telement but neither of them work to make her feel better. She only feels better in the morning after she' s made a poo. Is there anything I can do about this? Is there something in my diet that could be affecting her? I have a lot of wind at night myself, should I take probiotics or something? I would think that after 5 months, the food I eat should not affect her. Please advise as I would like to continue breastfeeding till 1 year.

There is a strong possibility that your baby is lactose intolerant [and you may be as well] I know that you would like to continue breast feeding. just to be sure of the possibility of lactose intolerance try your bay on a lactose free formula for 48 hours and see if she is more comfortable. If she is you will need to continue on this formula-NAN LF or S26 LF.
