Alcophyllex is not the correct treatment for whooping cough and should be stopped. She will benefit from a short course of Prelone. It does have a bitter taste and some children refuse to take it. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to give her Celestone syrup 5ml once daily for 5 days instead of the Prelone. Please note that it must be Celestone syrup and not Celestamine syrup.
