White patches on baby''s neck

My baby is 13 weeks old. I saw last week that she has small, white patches in the deep fold on her neck (under her chin). It looks like the skin is discoloured. I use unfragranced Johnson''s baby acqueous cream to bath her. I don''t usually cream under her neck, but since I spotted the patches, I use SBR Repair cream in the morning and Nutraderm in the evening. What are these patches, will they go away and do I need to take her to her paed to check out?

Note that my baby also has ezsema on her cheeks, chin and under her chin. The skin feels rough.

It is possible that your baby does not have the usual kind of eczema which often has an allergic cause. Your baby's eczema sounds like the kind that is known as 'seborrhoeic eczema'. This kind of eczema lasts for a shorter time and most babies outgrow it by the age of about 6 months. You can try a very mild cortisone cram known as Mylocort Cream applied once or twice daily to her rash. If it has not cleared up after 5 days it would be best to take your baby to see your paediatrician.
