Your son has a very common skin condition with a very long name, 'pityriais alba'. The cause of this condition is not known but may be due to a virus infection. It is very difficult to treat and can last as long as 2 years in some cases.Try Mylocort cream twice daily on the rash for 10 days and see if this helps.Afterwards use a good moisturiser daily on his face such as Epimax cream.
