Q.

Wheezing

My child is currentely wheezing and his gp prescribed combivent 3 x daily in a nebuliser (he is 2yr) he goes hysterical when i try nebulise him and my pharmacist suggessted i rather use 2.5ml 3 x day of Berotec. Can i use this instead as i cant get my child to do the nebuliser? He is also on singulair.

Do not use Berotec. It would be far easier for you to use a Ventolin puffer with an Aerochamber child [yellow] spacer with face mask.Put the Spacer mask over your son's face and give one puff. Count to 10 and then give a second puff. It does not matter if your child cries as the medicine will still get into his lungs.This is very safe and will relieve his wheezing. Continue with the Singulair.
