Wheeze after croup

Good Morning Prof

Hope you are well and had a restfull weekend?

My youngest (14 months) was hospitalized with croup (grade 2) last Thursday night, but luckily recovered quickly. Since then he has developed a productive cough, and I can hear a wheeze in his right lung. He has no fever. He is quite restless at night, very sweaty and tosses and turns a lot. I gave him his last dose of Prelone yesterday, and also the last Pulmicort by neb. Is this to be expected after croup?

Many thanks

Thank you. This is not typical after croup. If you look at your other question posted today when you mentioned that your son is 'grunting', we need to be sure that your son does not have pneumonia. Also wheezing is not found with croup and may be further evidence that your son has pneumonia.
