What to do?

Hi doc. My daughter is 4 years old, but her behaviour is very very bad. I can say it is still that of a 2 year old. She speaks very loud, shouts at times when she doesn''t get her way and still throws tantrums. I really don''t know what to do. Punishment is not helping that much. At school however she is completely opposite and behaves very well, but at home she is a terrorist. It has gotten so bad that I often don''t even want to take her places with me. She will still even perform in a shop. Please advise me what to do. I some days want to end my life.

You have to stop your little daughter from continuing this way. The only way to approach this problem is to be very firm with her. Do not plead or beg her to stop misbehaving when she starts.Just speak once in a clear firm voice. Say 'Stop doing that now!' If she does not stop take her and put her in her room and close the door. Do not let her out until she stops crying and performing. She should say sorry when she comes out of the room. Do this each and every time she has a tantrum or misbehaves. She will soon stop.
