What could be the problem?

Hi Doc

My baby girl is 6 months old. She is eating porrige in the morning and she''ll have butternut, sweet potato or potato to eat in the evenings. She will normally drink a full (180ml) bottle before bed time.

She has always slept through (from 8pm until 6am), but lately for the past week or so she''ll wake up a few times in the night. I will normally get up and put her dummy in her mouth and she''ll go back to sleep, but other times I give her, her milk to drink and she finishes a full bottle.

I''m not complaining at all, as she is such a good baby - I''m just wondering why the sudden change?

She still has 5-6 bottles a day, and she is eating well. Could she just be going through a growth spurt or could it be her teeth that are worrying her (she is teething)?

Thank you

Yes, you are spot on. Your baby is teething and her first teeth will come through very soon. Use a teething gel such as Pansoral Gel and massage this using your finger onto her lower gums in the centre where her first teeth will appear.
