The average weight of a baby girl of 5 months is 7 kg. Your baby does seem to be tall, but her weight of 10kg is actually off the top of the infant's weight chart. She certainly does not need to be on solids now and this should be delayed for at least another month. It will be very difficult to cut back on her formula as she has become used to the amounts she has been given. Watch her weight and if this pattern of weight gain continues please see your paediatrician.
