Sumanda: Thanks for the info. He does eat fruit and yoghurt in between but i struggle to get him to eat supper with the family. All he wants is peanut butter sandwiches. The creche says he eats a healthy lunch so I dont know if he is full at supper time and only wants a snack. Do you have any suggestions to get him to eat supper with us instead of bread?

Hi guys,
I' ve checked my vaccination chart and the average is 16.5 kg at 4 years of age. Although it could be as low as 9.5kg and as high as 20.5 kg. It all depends on the growth chart. As long as the growth is consistant there should be no need to worry. If you are worried take him to your local clinic.

Jo - I would suggest trying him on a more varied diet, he needs the nutrients of a balanced diet.

My son will also be 4 in December and I' m concerned that he is underweight. He only eats porridge in the morning and then peanut butter sandwiches. He weighs 14 kg but his siter who is 16mths weighs 11kg. What is the average weight for age 4? He is happy and active and healthy.
