Weaning off Reflux Medication

My paed made a recommendation to start weaning my daughter off her reflux medication once she is 4 months, corrected age, which is next week.
She is currently on 5mg Losec, 5ml Zantac (3 x daily) and 5ml Clopamon (3 x daily).
My question is, how long would it take for this to take effect, i.e. if she still requires it, how long would it take for her to go back to being niggly?

I would not recommend stopping all of these medicines at once. As both the Zantac and Losec have similar functions,to reduce stomach acid, you can certainly stop the Zantac. It would be better to continue on the Losec 5mg and Clopamon [given only twice daily] until she is 6 months old. At that stage you can stop the Clopamon and if she seems to have lost the tendencey to reflux you can also stop the Losec. If she starts showing signs of discomfort again she must go back onto the Losec.
