Q.

Watery Eye - 8 months

Dear Paed
For the last couple of days, my LO (8mths) has woken up with a watery right eye, its not glued shut or anything but has a little yellow build up in the corner, during the day it seems fine. It doesn' t seem to bother him much. I do clean his eye in the morning with cooled boiled water and some cotton wool. Should I be concerned about this?

It is possible that your baby has developed a blocked tear duct of his right eye.Keep on wiping his eye with cooled boiled water but add a quarter of a teaspoon of salt to a cup of water. If his eye does not clear after 1 week you should ask your paediatrician to see your baby.
